One of the most important things a woman needs to return to normal everyday life after breast surgery is a positive outlook. She needs to feel glad that she's a woman. This is directly related to a sense of physical well-being, self-confidence and quality of life.
Every woman reacts differently to a diagnosis of breast cancer. There is simply no universal remedy for coping with the disease. Julia has dedicated her life to assisting other women coping with the experience.
Sometimes people you know are not necessarily the right listeners.
“I was advised against immediate breast reconstruction. I then started looking for suitable breast forms, bras and costume. During my search I noticed three problems in South Africa:
°

Most ladies buy their breast forms in impersonal department stores, putting them in an awkward situation;

° The available range of bras and swimming costumes are limited and does not cater for individual style or the latest fashion;
° Expert help is extremely important in choosing perfect breast form after total or partial mastectomy.”
